Thanksgiving Dinner Catering in Chicago

G Market Chef catered our son and future daughter-in-law’s rehearsal dinner in the Chicago West Loop area and they were wonderful from the very first phone call. We worked with Frank and Jorge to create a menu that accommodated food restrictions and allergies among our family and guests. The venue had only limited kitchen facilities, but they handled that challenge with ease. The food was incredible. So many guests stopped to tell us how delicious dinner was and everything was ready exactly when promised. Their bartending team also did a terrific job serving our signature drinks and other cocktails. Because the event was on a rooftop, we had to follow venue and district rules, including no glassware. Frank and Jorge took care of every detail. They even visited the venue a month ahead to get familiar with the layout, since it was their first time working there. We planned everything by email and phone from the West Coast and the whole process was easy. I would call G Market Chef again without hesitation for our next Chicago event. If I could give more than five stars, I would!

As an event director who has worked with many food vendors throughout the years, these guys know what they are doing!! They are efficient, professional, realistic, and serve fantastic food. They will be my go-to for all of my future upscale events in Chicago and they should be for you too. :)

Our family reunion dinner was fabulous. Everyone enjoyed the food, Brandon's presentations, and his sense of humor. Many in our family said the food was some of the best they'd ever had. In addition, we appreciated the care and attention given to our family members' food allergies. It was a wonderful evening! We know that preparing food in one kitchen at our location and serving it in another was challenging for Chef and his assistant. We realized we should have added another assistant to make that process more efficient. However it didn't detract from our experience. We highly recommend GMarket Chef and will definitely use them again in the future.

I planned our daughter’s graduation celebration in Hyde Park from DC, and we had a wonderful experience working with GMarket Chef!! Frank designed a fun, vegetarian-focused cocktail party menu with tequila-based cocktails centered around our daughter’s preferences. The food was delicious and the drinks were a huge hit! The catering team that arrived on site were so punctual, kind, and professional. All of our guests commented on how delicious the food was. I highly recommend this catering company!!

We hired GMarket Catering for a large event with more than 180 attendees, including two lunches, two dinners, and coffee/tea service throughout the event and they were absolutely amazing! We’ve been hosting this event for 18 years, and this was the first time we were able to make EVERYONE happy with the food. Not only was the food excellent, but the service completely exceeded our expectations. Every staff member was attentive, professional, and genuinely cared about every little detail. They took the time to listen to everyone, even our “trouble makers” 😄, and handled everything with patience and kindness. And the biggest surprise? They even took our tablecloths home and washed them for us. Seriously… what company does that? If you’re planning an event, don’t waste your time looking elsewhere...hire these guys!!! They made the entire experience stress-free. Truly a “set it and forget it” kind of deal!

We hired Gmarket Personal Chef for a big family birthday party, and everything was perfect. They offer a lot of great choices and everything we picked was cooked, prepared and plated beautifully. We had a wide variety of guests and everyone was raving about the food. It really made the party extra special because my husband and I could mingle with our guests, relax and have a good time without having to worry about the food. There is nothing like having excellent food to set the mood for a great party.

We used office catering in Chicago for a department celebration and the whole process felt smooth from start to finish. The drop off buffet had plenty of options and everything tasted homemade. Chef Patrick was a joy to work with and there was good, clear communication throughout the event. People are still talking about the lunch!

We brought them in for an office training day for about 40 people and it honestly could not have gone smoother. The buffet showed up right on time, everything was set up clean and labeled so people could grab food between sessions without any confusion. Chef Patrick checked in ahead of time and stayed on top of communication, which made our side of planning easy. The food was fresh, portions were solid, and even some of our pickier coworkers went back for seconds. I would definitely book them again for another busy week.

I’ve had the chance to try dishes prepared by Chef Charley and get a behind-the-scenes look at what the G Market Chef team does — and I was genuinely impressed. The food I tasted was flavorful, well-prepared, and clearly made with attention to detail. Beyond that, Charley is incredibly personable and passionate about his craft, which reflects well on the entire team. From what I’ve seen, communication is smooth and professional, and it’s easy to get in touch and understand what they offer. They’ve walked me through menus and concepts, and it’s clear they take pride in delivering a solid experience. GMarket organized a corporate meal for our workplace and it turned out fantastic. The dishes were high-quality and fit the corporate atmosphere perfectly. Communication was smooth and the staff was very helpful throughout. We would definitely hire them again.

We engaged Gmarket for my partner's 60th Birthday Party of 40 guests AND lets just say the guests are STILL raving about the food ! Frank put together a mouthwatering menu and the Chefs: Charlie and Johnny delivered! They were friendly, professional and we were able to enjoy the P A R T Y ! Honestly one of the easier vendors I have worked with. Corporate catering for about 60 people and zero issues. The hot buffet was right on schedule and clearly labeled. Chefs Frank & Charley kept me updated and there was good clear communication throughout the event.

Professional - Responsive - Dedicated staff and DELICIOUS food. We hosted 15 of our closest loved ones for Thanksgiving and decided we wanted to sit back and enjoy the experience. Enter, Gmarket. From the first interaction, Frank inspires confidence, which is vital when booking such services through email communications alone. The responsiveness really helped seal the deal for us. But without a stellar menu, we would have never booked. The menu spoke to us - difficult to do for our crowd. We have Napa winemakers and hospitality industry from all over the nation and foodies in our group who have ultra high standards. Chef Bobby WOWED us with the execution - on time - friendly - professional and respectful of our home. But the food won the day. Our friends kept looking around the table at each other with very pleasantly surprised, hushed tones, repeating: This is SO good. It was almost a primal response . Kim was our bartender and she did everything from mind our dog to mind our children. The entire experience with Gmarket from start to finish was truly a smashing success. I highly recommend this team for any special event when service, professionalism and delicious, delectably impressive food is in order. Thank you for the memories, Gmarket!

I came across Gmarket from a google search - and thought wow ALL five stars?!? And my experience was absolutely the same!! I wanted to plan a birthday dinner at my home and hadn't worked with a private chef before, so I wasn't sure what to expect. The short of it is I was blown away by Frank and his team from start to finish!! Frank was very responsive after my first inquiry and subsequent (read: MANY) requests. He proposed an amazing menu while accommodating several severe allergy requests. I changed the number of guests several times, which he also just rolled with. And then (!), I realized I REQUESTED THE WRONG DATE. A major error on my part. I don't recommend doing that, but Frank was also somehow able to accommodate my date change. I was incredibly grateful for that!! The dinner itself with Chef Charley was INSANELY DELICIOUS. We had an amazing round of starters, followed by a multi-course dinner and dessert. Everything was just SO, SO good. So flavorful. Cooked just perfectly. And there was plenty of food for all of the guests. (I was worried that maybe there wouldn't be generously sized portions, but this was not the case whatsoever.) On top of that, Chef Charley himself was an awesome guy and I really enjoyed working with him. We spoke before the dinner to run through everything, he helped make the dinner layout look gorgeous with some extra props I wasn't even expecting, and his cleanup job was A+. Icing on the cake for an incredibly talented chef!!! I am truly looking forward to my next opportunity to work with Frank, Charley and their team again!

Frank, Jessie, and their team catered for our engagement party and it was amazing! The food and the atmosphere they created were incredible - highly recommend. His bartender Phil and all the servers were great also!

Compliments galore. Chef Frank and his team NEVER miss a beat and the food is always delicious. Most professional folks I've ever worked with. We'll never go to another caterer, again. P.S. Absolutely get the lobster rolls. :-)

We had an awesome experience with the Gmarket team for our recent event. We chose a dropoff option with setup for 60 people. The assortment of sandwiches was DELICIOUS and guests were talking about them for days after. The setup took less than an hour and left us free to wrap up final details for our guests. Highly recommend!

I'm not normally an online reviewer, but shoutout to the team at Gmarket! They handled a birthday dinner party in our backyard and knocked it out of the park. Frank was incredibly easy to work with setting the terms, designing the menu and arranging a few supplemental items. Brandon the chef was excellent the day-of. The food was exceptional, the service outstanding. It met and exceeded my expectations (and my wife was over the moon). Couldn't have asked for a better experience. Highly recommend.

We used Gmarket for our 30-person vow renewal that was held at our home. Frank was wonderful to work with leading up to the event. We even had to reschedule at the last minute due to a serious illness, and Frank was beyond understanding and accommodating. When we were finally able to hold our event, the two chefs that prepared and served the food were unbelievably kind and personable. They answered questions from our interested guests and created the most gorgeous spread. They were very careful to keep meat and vegetarian items separate at my request. Everyone absolutely raved about the food. Even my super picky dad said that it was the best food he has had in Chicago! They left our kitchen sparkling. We will not hesitate to use Gmarket again in the future.

Our nonprofit hosted a small reception for program supporters, and it was a wonderful experience working with GMarket from start to finish! Frank was communicative, flexible, and helpful throughout the process and Chef Brandon and Charlie did an excellent job at the event. I usede Frank for my mother's 85th Birthday party. Frank was wonderful to work with and understood what I needed for a variety of taste. The day of the party the chef and his crew were fabulous to work with and the food was fantastic. They brought everything and cleaned up. Plenty of leftovers that they packaged.
